The Chinese Youth League Cultural Dancing Group (CYLCDG) has been an important part of CYL for many years. The group aims to teach and preserve Chinese culture and raise awareness of the beautiful art of Chinese Dancing. Each dance has a unique story to tell, depending on the nature, century, and area, which the dance is from.
The CYL Cultural Dancing Group is often invited to perform at various year round events, ranging from charity events, cultural celebrations, to major festivals in and out of Sydney, with Chinese New Year and the Moon Festival being two of the main performances.
Dance classes
are held every Saturday at the CYL clubhouse during
school semesters where experienced teachers provide
classes teaching Chinese Cultural Dancing. Classes
are set at elementary, intermediate and advanced
levels and we welcome anyone with an interest in
learning Chinese cultural dancing.
